Day 1: A chaotic start, an iconic show

Our journey began with some unexpected bumps: our original flight was cancelled and the replacement flight was delayed. Not quite the start we had in mind, especially with such an iconic evening planned – the Vivienne Westwood Bridal Show. But thanks to a healthy dose of positive vibes and a bit of luck, we made it in just in time. And what an entrance: the energy, the setting, the collection – it was immediately clear that this show would set the tone for the rest of the weekend. The show was so impressive and inspiring that all travel stress was immediately forgotten.

The 2026 collection was presented in a breathtaking setting: a stately, old university that perfectly matched the dramatic atmosphere of the show. From our front row seats, we saw everything you'd expect from Vivienne Westwood – and more – come to life. A theatrical fusion of romance, drama, funk, and edge, wrapped in stunning creations.

 

The collection was bursting with contrasts: soft, refined drapery alternated with sleek, minimalist lines. Chantilly lace, rich embroideries, and sparkling accents created a layered and surprising whole – all carefully balanced. Each design felt like a work of art, rebellious and elegant at the same time.

Day 2: At the Fira – a day of designer visits and new collection previews

We started the day at Prea James Bridal. Prea has been a staple in our boutique since the beginning, and it was fantastic to see her in person again, all the way from Australia. During our appointment, we viewed the 'Injection' collection and the new collection that will be released soon. The elegance we've come to expect from Prea was evident everywhere: refined corsetry, airy separates, and flowing draping that perfectly accentuated feminine forms. It's that subtle balance between comfort and luxury that makes her collections so unique.

 

Next, we visited Bon Bridé from London – and wow, Pippa never ceases to surprise us. She stays true to her vision and consistently delivers a collection full of courage, character, and contemporaneity. This preview felt like a creative statement: daring, layered, outspoken, and elegant all at once. Some looks originated from sketched designs, with Pippa masterfully bringing her prototype deconstructed looks to life. It's like looking at a sketch that, with her distinctive style, has taken shape in reality – raw, daring, and full of character.  It's inspiring to see how Pippa follows her own path, far removed from traditional ideas of what a 'bride' should be.

As she aptly put it: “I want to offer alternative options and for each collection to evolve with a new generation of modern women. It is not ‘timeless’ and it doesn’t claim to create ‘classic’ pieces. It’s of the moment and it celebrates the women of this moment in time, the bride of now.”

And you feel that in everything – a collection for brides who dare, who want to stay true to themselves, and who want to wear something that truly suits them. 

 

Our next stop was Cortana, a magical world full of silk fabrics and dreamy looks. Cortana’s subtle play with color is striking: soft blues, butter yellow, and delicate off-white come together perfectly in her designs. These colors feel like a serenade in fabric, tranquil and refined, yet full of life. The dresses, separate tops, and skirts can be endlessly combined, giving the collection timeless versatility. Styling is truly key here: the simplicity of the designs offers endless possibilities to create different looks, perfectly tailored to the bride's personality.

We concluded the day at Vivienne Westwood, where we could see and feel the collection, straight from the runway. A soft pink blush tone and florals ran like a common thread through the designs, giving the collection a delicate, romantic appeal. We fell completely in love with several unique pieces, including a mini that can be endlessly styled in countless combinations. Delivery is expected around November, so keep an eye on our socials.

 

That evening, we celebrated an extra special moment: Sara's 5th anniversary! We dined at our favorite spot in Barcelona, Gresca, where we toasted to five wonderful years together – and to all that is yet to come.

 

Day 3: Outside the Fair – Discovering collections in an intimate setting

We started the morning at Alexandra Grecco in the beautiful Soho House. Her new collection ‘Reverie’ was a dream: romantic, minimalist, and with more focus on corsetry and voluminous skirts than before. One dress immediately stole our hearts: Isadora – A corsetry top, enhanced with dreamy silk chiffon draping. The dress offers various styling options – from spaghetti straps to cap sleeves, off-the-shoulder, halter, or strapless.

 

Finally, we visited KYHA – a brand we didn't have in our collection yet, but that's about to change. Starting this summer, we'll be introducing this Australian gem to our boutique! The 'Moon Plain' collection is dramatic, modern, sexy, and full of character. Think: bubble skirts, structured draping, separates, and an effortless old-money vibe. A fresh, edgy addition to our current offerings.

We concluded our trip with an intimate and cozy dinner with other bridal insiders: Pippa from Bon Bridé, Zo from Zo & Willow, and Lindsey from Amare Bride from England. We talked about the future of bridal, the designers of today, and how wonderful it is to shape this industry together.

We are still on a cloud of inspiration and creativity. In the coming months, we will slowly see all the beautiful new collections arriving, and we CANNOT wait to welcome you – our brides – to the boutique.
