What should a wedding dress radiate for you?

I believe a wedding dress should be a reflection of who you are and what suits you. For example, I'm quite minimalistic with not too much fuss in my everyday clothing style, and the dress should radiate that for me as well. A big, wide dress with lots of glitter and lace wouldn't suit me very well then.

What does a wedding dress mean to you?

A wedding dress is, of course, one of the major components of the wedding. Not only on the day itself is it something beautiful that is in the spotlight, but also in the run-up to it, a lot of attention goes to it. I started looking months in advance and included my sisters, best friend, mother, and mother-in-law in this process. And secretly, a little bit of my husband too.

During this period, you also mentally prepare yourself for the big step, namely the wedding itself, and I found that very special. Especially because I got to do this with the people who are so close to me.

Did you have certain expectations of a wedding dress beforehand? Were they met?

Honestly, beforehand I was a bit afraid that I wouldn't find the right dress and that I wouldn't have that "this is my dream dress" feeling. I had been looking for at least 10 months in advance, online and in stores, but simply couldn't find anything that suited me. I wanted something special, something unique, but I only saw dresses that I saw most people wearing in photos.

Until someone tipped me off about Wild at Heart Bridal. The feeling that I wouldn't find the perfect dress completely turned around at that moment, and I was immediately sold when I saw this fantastic dress by Bon Bridé. I absolutely had to have this dress for our wedding. And it worked out!

How would you describe your style in 3 words?

- Minimalist
- Somewhat alternative
- Natural

What were your expectations of a bridal boutique?

My expectations primarily concerned the service of the staff and the type of offerings the store would provide. I find it important that the person helping me was someone who listens to my wishes and helps me find the right dress. Wild at Heart absolutely lived up to these expectations for me.

What did you enjoy most about your experience at Wild at Heart?

From the moment I walked onto your premises with my sisters and mother, I knew this would be the place where I would find my dress. What a beautiful building, both inside and out. That created enormous enthusiasm in me.

What I also really enjoyed was that almost all the dresses I had already seen online were also in the boutique, so I could see them in real life. In other stores, I could only tell the staff what I liked, without seeing it myself, and that diminished the experience.

Because I could see and feel all these beautiful dresses in the front room at Wild at Heart, I unexpectedly found a few other dresses that I was enthusiastic about. I was also allowed to try them all on, and I thought that was fantastic!

What does a wedding mean to you?

If you had asked me before I was engaged and actually planning the wedding, I would have said that I found it something beautiful, but it wasn't such a big deal for me.

Until the moment my husband proposed to me and we started planning and organizing 1.5 years in advance (yes, we did it all ourselves!). Through all the preparations and all the lovely people who were so involved in the process, the wedding became something bigger and more special for me every day.

I realized more and more that this day is dedicated to love, to our love, and that it would be extra crowned with this wedding. I wouldn't have dared to say beforehand that it would be such a big thing for me, but it certainly was. And in a very positive way.

Who all attended?

Because it was in Spain and all guests would be there from beginning to end, we chose to keep the group relatively small (70 people). We really only invited the people closest to us in our daily lives, and that group consisted of our families, some family members like grandparents, uncles and aunts, and of course our best friends.

What was the highlight of your wedding?

That's a very difficult question. Our wedding was a long weekend with almost only highlights. If I have to choose one, it was the moment my husband and I exchanged our vows during the ceremony. During this moment, we were surrounded by our dearest friends and family, among the grapevines in the Spanish sun. I felt incredibly rich and grateful then.

What advice would you give to future brides?

Start looking for your dress early, because not only does delivery take a relatively long time, but alterations can also take a lot of time.

But most of all, I would say, enjoy everything! The process and the run-up to the big day, the moments you share with your partner, but also with your family and friends. And of course, the day itself!

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your wedding day?

I could write pages about this special day, or rather this weekend, but if I had to say one thing about it, it's that it exceeded all our expectations for me and my husband. It was a weekend where we realized once again how many loving, beautiful people we have around us, and we are incredibly grateful for that.
