How did you two meet?

A few months passed, but Glenn remained on my mind. I didn't dare add him on social media because we didn't know each other. Back then, Instagram still had a feature where you could see what someone liked. That's how I saw that Glenn liked photos of an acquaintance – and she liked his too. I then asked if anything was going on, but she didn't know him at all.
I felt instinctively that I needed to make contact quickly, so I added him on Snapchat and sent a selfie with the text: “You have a beautiful jawline.” Soon after, I received a selfie back with the text: “Do I know you?” This was on a Friday afternoon while I was in class. The following Tuesday, he came to my place to cook for me. We've been in contact every day since.
What should a wedding dress radiate for you?
I find a romantic, feminine dress with a modern touch very beautiful. It can certainly have something sexy or a surprising detail to give it that little extra. A dress should suit you as a person, so that you shine more – not the other way around.

What feeling did you want to have when you put on your wedding dress?
How would you describe your style in 3 words?
What made your dream dress perfect for you?

What were your expectations of a bridal boutique?
Still, I was a little apprehensive, because it's one of those moments where you look at yourself very critically. Of course, you want to feel beautiful, and that made me extra aware of things like how my arms would look in the dress or whether my stomach was visible. Luckily, Emma was super sweet, and so was my company, so I quickly stopped focusing on that. I mainly tried to experience how I felt in the dress and had a really fun morning. Exceeded expectations, in other words!
What made your experience at Wild At Heart so special?
There was a very pleasant, authentic, and relaxed atmosphere. I immediately felt at ease in the boutique. The selection also appealed to me: unique dresses and special designers. I didn't feel like I was 'just another bride,' but rather that I received genuine personal attention. That feeling is also reflected in the items and dresses hanging there – everywhere you notice that care, love, and attention have been put into them.
Where did your wedding take place?
At Borgo Castello Panicaglia, Umbria - Italy.
What was your favorite moment of the wedding ceremony?
Did you have a specific theme or color scheme for your wedding? How did this influence your dress choice?
No, not at all, actually. The color green did appear regularly, so we chose that as the color theme for the stationery and goodies. Other than that, we didn't really implement it throughout the wedding. Glenn initially wanted a green suit, but ultimately went for a different color. Perhaps that's why we unconsciously incorporated the color green into other elements, haha. However, this did not influence my choice of dress.
Did you have an intimate wedding or was it a big party? Who were the people you absolutely wanted to have at your big day?
We had an intimate wedding – 40 adults and 6 children. Unfortunately, not everyone we would have liked to have there, but we enjoyed it so incredibly much. It was very special and unique for us that our guests traveled all the way to Italy to celebrate love – and life – with us.
What made it extra special was that we could spread everything over three days. Most people already knew each other, but because there was a day leading up to it, there was plenty of time to truly talk, catch up, and enjoy each other's company. It felt very relaxed and personal, exactly as we had envisioned it.
What was the highlight of your wedding?
Did you underestimate anything about planning your wedding?
What I did underestimate was how much insecurity came with it. I had decided to do my own makeup and my sister did my hair — and I am still so happy about that. It wasn't perfect, but neither am I. Those moments together were so nice and relaxed; it felt a bit like we were teenagers again getting ready for a night out.
The insecurity mainly came from all the Pinterest photos and videos on social media about the 'perfect' bride: flawless skin, Botox, perfect nails — you name it. Sometimes I felt like I had to meet those standards to truly be a bride. And then there's that stigma that you should lose weight to fit into your dress… girls, no worries. The dress is measured and tailored to your body, so just stay yourself.
Fortunately, I was eventually able to let that go and just enjoy who I am — exactly as I was on that day.
Looking back on your wedding day, what's the first thing you remember?
The dinner. We had two long Italian tables with lots of candles instead of flowers, and above us hung those cozy string lights. As dusk slowly fell, I looked around and saw everyone chatting happily, enjoying the food and drinks. Then I looked at Glenn — my husband — and felt so proud and blessed that I get to experience and share all this with him. That was also the first moment I could fully relax again and truly enjoy myself.
What advice would you give to future brides?
You are beautiful, exactly as you are.
